TINICUM
TREASURES: Our little Nature Shop
"The
lack of power to take joy in outdoor nature is as real a misfortune
as the lack of power to take joy in books". - Theodore
Roosevelt
Tinicum
Treasures, the bookstore
and gift shop operated by the Friends of John Heinz Wildlife
Refuge at Tinicum is located in the Cusano Environmental Education
Building.
Store
proceeds are used to advance refuge programs for environmental
education and for conservation of wetlands, woods and habitat.
The
shop is staffed by volunteers. If you like helping people
and want to see the programs of the refuge succeed, you could
volunteer one (or more) day(s) a month. The usual time frame
is between 10 am and 2 pm, though this sometimes varies slightly.
The work is easy and relaxing. Training will be provided onsite.
